The edition examines the recent State Duma elections. Firstly, Ora John Reuter assesses the factors underlying United Russia’s dominant performance in the election, as well as the perennial long-term challenges it faces in ensuring elite cohesion and maintaining social support. Secondly, Andrey Shenin provides an account of voting irregularities in Saratov, noting that a quarter of all precincts reported the exact same results for the four major parties.
