This edition considers the efforts to coordinate the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and China's One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative. Firstly, Zhang Xin critically reviews the perspectives of the Russian and Chinese expert communities about the relationship between the two regional projects. Secondly, Li Lifan examines the challenges facing the attempts to "dock" the EEU and OBOR. Thirdly, Alexander Gabuev suggests that a number of post-Soviet states are keen to capitalise on the OBOR initiative.
