This paper explores India's energy policy and power sector. The author indicates that the industrial sector in India is a major energy user, as well as a source of pollution. The paper discusses air quality in India, highlighting major sources of pollution and energy policies to promote clean air across sectors. It concludes that India needs a sustainable energy policy to meet the growing demand and to protect the environment and conserve resources.
