This brief will outline the penalties imposed on Iran by the US as a result of its nuclear program, its support for organizations the US government has designated as terrorist, and its human rights abuses. It will discuss the impact of these penalties on Iran’s nuclear advancement, as well as the consequences for the overall Iranian economy.
