This collection of papers looks at Southern European policies toward the Mediterranean from a transatlantic point of view. In this framework, what affects and shapes Southern European countries’ policies toward the Mediterranean is less the NATO Mediterranean Dialogue as such (NATO’s specific policy toward the area) than transatlantic relations, that is relations with the US.
