Publication

This publication examines the state of the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty, and places particular attention on its innovations regarding the EU democratic deficit. The authors examine how European political parties in the European Parliament are supporting the implementation of the Treaty, as well as national parliaments' role. Further chapters examine the major challenges posed by the implementation of European Citizens' Initiatives, and conclusions.
