This policy brief discusses the implications of the January 2011 revolution for US-Egyptian relations. The US has been supporting the Egyptian military heavily since the 1970s Camp David accord and must now re-evaluate that support as the military is in a very public position of power. The author advocates a pause in US military assistance while consultations with Egypt and a policy review are carried out in order to build a new basis for US-Egyptian relations.
