This brief evaluates the political climate in Jordan ahead of parliamentary elections on 23 January 2013, and offers insight as to why elections will not ameliorate the growing political and economic frustration among its citizens. The author also offers recommendations for Jordan and the US to usher the country through turbulent times to a more stable and democratic future.
