This paper examines the role of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) after the Arab Spring. The author argues the GCC has increased its level of cooperation and that its initiative in Yemen is possibly the best example of this. However, the diverse responses of GCC member states to the various internal challenges they are now facing has also opened up areas of contention within the Council. This begs the question: Is this just the same old tribal politics or do we see a schism emerging in the GCC?
