This publication looks at the future of agriculture. The key challenge, according to the author, is sustainable agriculture and the need to resolve the conflicting claims of food production, energy supplies, urban habitats and ecosystem services. The paper is concerned with the role and capabilities of new technologies and aims at encouraging young people to engage with agricultural science.
