This brief examines the threat posed by future Iranian cyber attacks on the US as well as previous cyber campaigns the two have conducted against each other. The author argues that near term future attacks by Iran will probably not be able to cause significant disruption. He suggests the most damaging result from a campaign of attacks would probably be the creation of a new political crisis involving Iran, Israel, and the US. To prevent this, the author argues the US should improve its cyber defenses.
