This brief offers an in-depth look at the Israeli experience in missile defense. In particular, the authors explore what NATO can learn from Israel's experience. The authors argue that while this is an area that is worth exploring for NATO, the analogies between NATO and Israel should not be exaggerated. The challenges that a lone country like Israel faces, and the remedies it has found to address them, do not provide an ideal reflection of those faced by an alliance with twenty-eight members.
