This paper argues that election processes and procedures should be more technology-dependent. In particular, the text considers 1) the existing roles technology plays in election practices; 2) the benefits and disadvantages of voting electronically; 3) where this method already exists and why it has yet to be widely adopted; and 4) which countries plan on implementing offsite voting in the future. Finally, the text recommends ways to promote the increased (and responsible) use of election technology.
