Publication

This publication focuses on possibilities to enhance international maritime safety, security and defense. More specifically, the author proposes three areas for cooperation in the maritime domain: maritime surveillance, maritime capacity building, and global maritime governance. He also gives three specific examples of successful cooperation in the area of maritime security, outlining what has made each successful and suggesting that they could be used as blueprints or developed further. He also identifies overall principles which could significantly and promptly improve the present maritime security situation.
