This commentary summarizes the objectives, insights and questions resulting from the September 2012 KOFF Roundtable Series on Water and Land Management in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Situations. The author explains that while there is agreement among participants that the issue is important, the challenges facing land and water management are difficult to overcome, especially by fragile states where these resources are often at the center of tensions.
