This paper examines the motivations for the French and MISCA military intervention in the Central African Republic (CAR). The author argues that France's intervention is not motivated by humanitarian concerns, but rather a wish to control the huge quantities natural resources and Uranium ore in the CAR. He concludes that until African leaders take a more regional approach to development cooperation, France will keep seeking control over African riches by force of arms, to the detriment of the vast majority of Africans.
