This paper contains four articles on two judgments by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) to acquit persons who had previously been convicted of war crimes. In particular, it examines a case involving two Croatian generals - Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markač - and another involving three former commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army - Ramush Haradinaj, Idriz Balaj and Lahi Brahimaj. The articles discuss the legal aspects of the acquittals, the public reactions in Croatia, Serbia and Kosovo, as well as the implications for efforts dealing with other historical grievances in the Balkans.
