This commentary discusses the concept of the term “Euro-Turk”, which refers to Turks that live in a European country other than Turkey and who are socially and economically integrated into that country, even though they may retain their Turkish citizenship. The author argues that the term has no real geographical or historical basis and is more a result of political and geopolitical interpretations. She also believes that, as Turkish origin populations are becoming more politically integrated, the term “Euro-Turks” may be losing its importance.
