This commentary analyzes the implications of the Syrian civil war for the Turkish government’s peace process with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The author contends that the conflict in Syria has emerged as a grave threat to the peace process. Because of this, the PKK should move to bring about a peace settlement rather than accepting the process as an end in itself.
