This publication offers a comprehensive overview of the origins and evolution of the terrorist group Boko Haram, currently operating in northern Nigeria and neighboring countries. The author also explores recent changes in the group’s doctrine and strategy which includes a focus on establishing an Islamic 'Caliphat'. He concludes that Boko Haram is part of a wider Islamist-Jihadist challenge which poses a serious threat to the entire continent of Africa and the West.
