This paper discusses the socioeconomic and cultural integration challenges facing Muslim populations and integration policy in Europe as well as the extent of the link between these problems and jihadist terrorism. The main argument of the author is that while there are weaknesses in integration policies of European countries, the recruitment of Muslim youth by Islamic terrorist groups and movements in Europe has more to do with the interconnected nature of the world today than with failed integration.
