In this paper, German and American scholars provide several broad recommendations on how to improve German-US relations. Overall, the authors recommend developing ties through increased cooperation between the "millennial generation" of both countries, a group whose ideas are less shaped by past conflicts. They also recommend trade negotiations, intelligence services, migration issues, military matters and technological innovation as areas in which there is potential for greater cooperation between the two countries.
