This paper focuses on Russia's expanding military intervention in Syria and Iraq and what its strategic objectives are in the region. As the text's author sees it, Moscow's intervention has already had a "profound" impact on the region’s strategic-political posture. The Assad administration, for example, will not topple, Russia's cooperation with Israel has improved, and the region's other stakeholders will have to reassess their policies and plans, whether they want to or not.
