This report examines how the Arab world might capitalize on emerging technologies to transform its economies and make its people more globally competitive. In particular, the text’s authors discuss 1) why Middle Eastern economies are ill-prepared for the 21st century; 2) how technology, improved education and a benign regulatory climate could unleash the region’s human capital; and 3) what specific steps should be taken to harness the benefits of technology.
