This issue of “Perspectives on Terrorism” begins by presenting “a political socialization perspective” on how radicals become terrorists in Kenya and Uganda. The subsequent articles focus on 1) how Indonesia has been dealing with terrorism; 2) the links between globalization and terrorism in the Middle East; 3) why young men and women from Belgium and Netherlands become either foreign fighters or jihadist brides in Syria; 4) the place of extremism in media content; and 5) the future of Afghanistan and its peace process.
