This paper analyzes policy challenges and opportunities facing the US in the Persian Golf region. The contributors examine in particular the political relations between the US and Saudi Arabia. The paper examines the important features of Saudi Arabia as a US strategic partner and outlines what steps the US should take to maximize the benefits of its relationship with Saudi Arabia.
