This paper discusses the implications of rising life expectancies in China for the country's healthcare system, drawing on the results of a conference on this topic. The paper identifies China's future health challenges, reviews options for the organization of the healthcare sector and points to possible cooperation with and involvement of the US. The paper argues that China shall study different international healthcare systems and that Western advanced technologies and techniques should be shared with the country.
