This paper features the transcript of Ambassador W Robert Pearson's presentation to the Atlantic Treaty Association, on the occasion of its 48th general assembly. The paper features a discussion of the historical development of the foreign relations and general cooperation between the United States and Turkey. The author highlights the relations between the US and Turkey as a historical model of sustained engagement and looks forward to the future development of the bilateral ties between the two countries.
