This paper examines developments in networked security operations and aerial drones. The author argues that worldwide crossfunctional security tasks, which also involve NGOs, have long been drivers of a development toward networked, highly reactive integrated security systems. He also argues that aerial platforms are currently being sold, or prepared to be sold, that are suitable both for civilian and military security and stabilization tasks.
