This study discusses the increasing need for energy supply in Asia due to rapid economic growth of most Asian economies. It calls for an intensification of US-Japanese cooperation in particular and for broader cooperation with other Asian countries in the energy field. The authors provide a series of recommendations to foster effective US-Japan cooperation that could help Asia achieve sustainable development.
