This paper discusses the critical stage in China's and India's efforts to further their economic growth, which requires more energy supplies while aiming to lower their environmental pollution. The author analyzes the specifics of each country and then notes that despite their similarities there have not been substantial policy discussions between the two countries. He further calls for a broader cooperation that includes Japan and the US that can provide assistance and technology to China and India, and in turn, benefit from stronger trading and political relationships with the two countries.
