This paper discusses China's energy consumption and environmental pollution. It states that China has achieved rapid economic growth while decreasing the carbon dioxide output through the implementation of sustainable development strategies. The authors draw attention to the fact that China would particularly benefit from input of capital and technologies from developed countries to further reduce its carbon dioxide emissions.
