This brief analyzes the challenges now facing the US and its partners because of Iran's increasingly accurate long range missile systems. More specifically, the text’s authors explore 1) how these improved weapons will most likely impact regional stability; 2) what America and others should do to limit the growth of Iran’s missile capabilities; 3) how Tehran’s missile program fits into its longer-term strategy for regional hegemony; 4) what risks enhanced Iranian missile capabilities pose for US forces in the Middle East; and 5) what steps regional powers should take to defend themselves from this increasingly dangerous threat.
