This paper analyzes the risks posed by biohazard-based epidemics and pandemics. More specifically, the text’s author 1) focuses on the infectious diseases associated with migration, terrorism, technological developments, etc.; 2) looks at the lessons we can learn from the recent Ebola outbreak in Western Africa; and 3) recommends ways for European and other actors to prevent, assess, and respond to future epidemics and pandemics.
