This paper outlines the tasks facing the Georgian government and the international community shortly after the armed conflict between Russia and Georgia in summer 2008. It makes recommendations in support of Georgia's reconstruction and continued democratization, commenting on the conflict with Russia, economic development and political reforms. The author argues that, realistically, Georgia has no hope of restoring its control in Abkhazia or South Ossetia in the near term.
