This article contends there is a yin-yang dynamic at play in Northeast Asia. Yes, the region is rife with strategic uncertainties and geopolitical tensions which are being fed by power politics and mutual distrust. And yet, growing economic interdependence and non-traditional security concerns are also driving trilateral cooperation. It’s the latter that the community-minded EU should facilitate, argues our author.
