This paper argues that despite historically sound relations, a state of ambivalence, mistrust, and even hostility now exists between Europe and Israel. To heal the wounds, the text’s author continues, Israel’s public must compare the costs of occupying Palestinian lands (disinvestment, product labeling, etc.) with the broader benefits of peace (a “privileged partnership” with Europe, for example).
