This paper looks at how the Brexit decision might impact the United Kingdom’s future prospects as a unitary state. More specifically, the text’s author 1) contemplates the possible departures of Scotland and Northern Ireland from the UK; 2) analyzes the various reactions of political parties to the Brexit debate; and 3) examines how the EU might influence the future unity of the UK.
