The Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) is a non-profit organization. The Institute's main objective is to promote an understanding of the problems of international politics through studies, research, meetings and publications, with the aim of increasing the opportunities of all countries to move in the direction of supranational organization, democratic freedom and social justice. IAI Research Papers are brief monographs written by one or more authors on current problems of international politics and international relations. The aim is to promote greater and more up-to-date knowledge of emerging issues and trends and help prompt public debate.
