This brochure describes the activities and outcomes of the first year of a dialogue project which brings together Buddhists from the center and south of Thailand. Its goal is to strengthen the role of Buddhism and its actors in the transformation of the unrest in Thailand’s three southernmost provinces where a protracted conflict has taken more than 6,000 lives since 2004. The project is a joint initiative by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich and the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, Mahidol University.
