This paper analyzes the concept of Conflict Sensitivity (CS). More precisely, it 1) traces its origins; 2) gauges the degree to which it has managed to influence policy processes, frameworks, and techniques; 3) examines the private sector’s engagement with CS as a priority and practice; 4) elaborates on the role that IOs and NGOs play in leading private businesses down the CS path; and 5) highlights the challenges CS faces within different development and peacebuilding sectors.
