This issue presents various aspects of migrant issues between China and Central Asia. It looks at the role of Chinese migrants in Kyrgyzstan and the position of cross-border minorities in the relations between the countries. A second focus is set on perceptions of the Chinese in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan as well as on social and economic patterns of trade relations. Furthermore, one article deals with China's Central Asia policy.
