This report examines radicalization among women in Kyrgyzstan and the flawed policies of the Kyrgyzstan government in addressing this issue. Instead of a concerted effort to address the root causes of radicalization among conservatively and religiously inclined women in the country, the government has resorted to excessively repressive tactics that only serve to radicalize women further. There is a real threat, the report posits, that groups such as Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HT) will simply swell in ranks if the government fails to root out endemic corruption and fails to initiate real political dialogue with Islamic groups and religious communities.
