This report examines the drivers of Chinese national and provincial policy toward Myanmar and its implications for international approaches toward the country. The author explains how Chinese authorities manage the relationship with the Myanmar government, ethnic groups and opposition. He also analyzes the limits of Chinese influence in Myanmar.
