This issue of the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst opens with four analytical articles on the limits of Russia’s Chechnya policy, public opinion on democratization in Central Asia, Kazakhstan’s bilateral relations with western countries and institutions, and Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations. It also features four field reports on Georgia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the prospects for a Central Asian union, opposition rallies in Kyrgyzstan and banking sector reform in Tajikistan. The final pages furnish a news digest on the Central Asia-Caucasus region.
