This issue of the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst features four analytical articles and four field reports, combined with a news digest. The articles focus on the relations and feasibility of a railway connection between Georgia and Russia, prosecution and imprisonment in Turkmenistan, and the environmental consequences of Russia's war with Chechnya. The field reports are concerned with the demand for democratization in Kyrgyztan, Chinese relations with Central Asia, Georgia's response to Russia's wine export ban, and the possibility of Turkmen-China cooperation on a gas project.
