This issue of the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst features four analytical articles and four field reports, combined with a news digest. The articles focus on analyses of Tajikistan's reaction to increasing unrest in Afghanistan; the failure of the EU's conflict prevention strategy in Georgia; an assessment of the situation in Afghanistan by General Stanley McChrystal; and Georgian political reform after the 2008 war. The field reports are concerned with the Armenian-Azerbaijani disagreement stalling the Karabakh Settlement Process; the Tajik president's promotion of energy-saving lamps, and the appointment of his daughter as deputy foreign minister; and the decision by Irakli Alasania to run for the post of mayor of Tbilisi.
