This report analyzes the pattern of violence in Thailand since Abhisit Vejjajiva assumed the premiership and studies his government’s response to the conflict in the southern part of the country. Based on interviews in the conflict-affected provinces, this publication reviews the consequences of the uprising of the Muslim minority and addresses future challenges. The report offers a series of recommendations on how the Thai government can best handle the conflict.
