This book discusses the development of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline project as a means for Europe to gain independent access to Caspian energy supplies. It evaluates the geostrategic and geoeconomic implications of the pipeline, and assesses its impact on Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey individually. The book also investigates some of the environmental and social challenges associated with the BTC project.
