This brief examines the fragile peace in Sri Lanka and assesses the current state of reconciliation and reconstruction efforts in the country following the defeat of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). The authors bemoan the lack of real efforts by the government to address the plight of the Tamil minority, as well as that of other minorities. They encourage international actors to press the Sri Lankan government to act responsibly in the post-war environment.
